It’s mandatory to have health insurance when you apply for a visitor visa. It should cover at least basic health care expenses and be valid for all the periods you are planning to stay in Australia.You can find private health insurance provided which will meet your requirements.

For skilled immigration

 

You must purchase private insurance with the suitable level of health cover : for in-patient medical services and hospital cover, plus ambulance. Health insurance should be valid for the whole time you are in Australia on a working visa.The cost of private health insurance varies based on cover type, age, where you live, if it will also cover medical care expenses of your family etc.
